Hi there, I'm Matteo Gualeni, a musician, drummer, sound designer, and mentor based in Milan, with a focus on audio-visual projects and music education. Over the past five years, I've found success with my projects Baransu and Missing Ear, while currently co-leading Arco Periodico alongside sound artist Katatonic Silentio. I’ve also curated international guest mixes for Radio Raheem, hosted by the Triennale di Milano, where I hold an ongoing residency. In addition, I teach electronic music production at Accademia del Suono, organize events, and have performed at prestigious venues including Dongdaemun Design Plaza (Seoul), Museo Della Permanente (Milan), Zeche Zollverein (Germany), Fondazione Marconi/Istituto Svizzero (Milan), BASE (Milan), Monk (Rome), and MiDi (Bergamo).
My musical journey began with drumming at a young age, leading me to explore Jazz and earn a bachelor’s degree from Conservatorio Luca Marenzio. I later pursued a master’s degree in Electronic Music and Sound Design at Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan, followed by an advanced course in Mixing Techniques at Berklee.
I’m deeply involved in the experimental-electronic music scene, collaborating with various artists across different formats, including live performances and radio residencies. My current project, Missing Ear, began as a collaboration with av artist Marco Ciceri and visual designer Micheal Barteloni and others soon. My work spans multiple media, including arts, film, and immersive audiovisual projects. I’ve performed at events such as Zeche Zollverein’s New Now Festival [UNESCO], Museo Della Permanente (IT), sharing main stages with aritst like the Warp's Scottish producer Hudson Mohawke, Manchester's queen of electro Afrodeutsche and well know of the Italian AV scene LOREM.
